Berlanga, known for his impressive knockout streak and crowd-pleasing style, previously fought in the Orlando area in April 2021. In that bout, he secured an eight-round unanimous decision victory over Demond Nicholson, marking the first time he went the distance in his career, despite scoring four knockdowns. Since then, the 26-year-old Brooklyn-based Nuyorican has had to rely on the scorecards in his last five fights, including a unanimous decision over Jason Quigley where he couldn't resume his knockout trend despite multiple knockdowns.
McCrory, originally considered as an opponent for Berlanga’s previous fight, now gets his chance and will be making his U.S. debut. The 35-year-old Irish fighter has shown endurance and skill, going the distance in his last two wins in 2023. His most recent victory was a unanimous decision over Steed Woodall in Belfast, a city where most of his professional fights have taken place.
Berlanga is also being positioned for a mid-year showdown against fellow unbeaten contender Jaime Munguia. DAZN is keen on this fight, instructing both parties to avoid lesser fights if they wish to compete again this year. Both fighters are set to face approved opposition, with the hope that a deal for a summer clash can be reached.

In the co-main event, 2020 Olympic gold medalist and emerging lightweight sensation Andy Cruz (2-0, 1 KO) will take on the resilient Mexican southpaw Brayan Zamarripa (14-2, 5 KOs),.
Matchroom Boxing announced the addition of Cruz-Zamarripa to the card, highlighting Cruz's journey towards world honors against the formidable Zamarripa. This announcement comes amid Cruz's legal battle, having filed a complaint against his co-promoter New Champion Promotions, LLC, with Matchroom Boxing also named in the lawsuit due to its promotional role. However, Matchroom is not accused of any wrongdoing in the matter.
Cruz, a Cuban prodigy now based in Miami, began his professional career with a bang. He debuted with a unanimous decision victory over Juan Carlos Burgos in Detroit, Michigan, on July 15. Cruz followed up with his first career knockout, stunning Jovanni Straffon in the third round during the Devin Haney-Regis Prograis undercard last December in San Francisco, California.
Since clinching gold at the Tokyo Olympics, where he outpointed Keyshawn Davis, Cruz has been on a fast track in the professional ranks. Signing with Matchroom in May, the bout against Zamarripa marks Cruz's inaugural fight in his adopted state of Florida, promising an exciting display of his burgeoning talent.
Brayan Zamarripa hailing from Baja California, Mexico, brings a solid record to the ring, having never been knocked down or out in his 16 professional fights. Despite suffering a narrow split decision loss to Angel Fierro last September in Tijuana, which ended his ten-fight winning streak, Zamarripa bounced back with an eighth-round knockout victory in December in his hometown of Ensenada.
