Jose «Chon» Zepeda (35-3, 27 KOs) will meet Neeraj «Gangster» Goyat (17-3-2, 7 KOs) in a 10-round super lightweight bout at the Domo Alcalde in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Zepeda lost his last fight to Regis Prograis in Round 11, a battle for the vacant WBC title. However, before that, Zepeda had won five consecutive fights, with his most recent victory in October 2021 against Josue Vargas in the first round. Jose also had a thrilling fight against Ivan Baranchyk, which resulted in a win and featured a total of eight knockdowns.
Meanwhile, Goyat, who comes from Ghandigarh, India, faces a significant challenge against Zepeda, who is a skilled southpaw. Goyat has won his last eight fights since his only bout in Mexico against Sergio Daniel Moreno.
Aside from the main fight, the event features junior middleweight contender Carlos Ocampo (34-2, 22 KOs), unbeaten featherweight Rafael Espinoza (19-0, 16 KOs), and unbeaten super middleweight prospect Aaron Silva (11-0, 8 KOs), who recently signed with Golden Boy Promotions. The opening fight of the night is a junior lightweight bout between Miguel Torres Nunez (11-1, 6 KOs) and Kevin Montiel (7-2-2, 3 KOs).
